An activity for exploring how changes in climate could affect daily life and influence the economy of a region.
3. CO2 and You Grades 5-8(PDF)
An in-depth exercise that challenges students to determine and evaluate their personal and families' contribution of CO2 to the earth's atmosphere. Includes quantifying household and vehicle energy consumption and explaining the relationship between energy consumption and global climate change.
4. Sea Level Rising Grades 5-8(PDF)
This activity includes an experiment to predict how quickly ice will melt under certain atmosphere conditions and to measure potential sea level rising.
5. Mercury Rising: The Cloud Forest Grades K-4(PDF)
Five different activities offers students the opportunity to identify the physical and biological characteristics of a tropical rainforest and compare it to their own natural environment and how climate change effects both places.

EPA Global Warming Site
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's main global warming web site. An excellent resource.
World Resource Institute
WRI offers some excellent resources on global climate change with detailed scientific information as well as great tools for learning. Be sure to also visit WRI's SafeClimate.net, the Climate Hotmap and EarthTrends climate data section.
Environmental Literacy Council
The Council's site provides easy to understand summaries and materials on the major climate change issues.
UN Framework Convention on Climate Change
This is the link to the UNFCCC 'Guide to the Climate Change Negotiation Process' page. This site includes background information and current data on international government action.
US Global Change Research Program
The USGCRP is a federally-funded program. It is a great site with scientific data as well as information and programs created for educators and students.
Pew Center for Global Climate Change
The Pew Foundation's Global Climate Change website. Of particular interest is the "Policy Maker's Guide" which provides an overview of key climate change issues, the science and economics of climate change, and actions to meet the long-term challenges of global warming.
Alternative Fuels Data Center
The Alternative Fuels Data Center is produced by the US. Department of Energy and is a comprehensive resource for alternative fuel and vehicle information needs. This site includes an interactive fuel station mapping system, listings of available alternative fuel vehicles, and links to related Web sites.
